Our natural tendency when we are worried, upset or unclear is to put our very smart, capable brains on the problem.
We think and analyze and pro and con and scenario-play and talk to our girlfriends and talk to our therapists and work work work on the problem until we figure out what the perfect next move is.
And while we are in this seemingly never-ending cycle analysis and anxiety, we are putting our nervous system through the wringer.

I mean, reflection is good and thinking is fine, in general.
But what even the smartest people often don’t realize is that when we are flooded in overwhelm or triggered or stuck, thinking only makes things worse.
Your Brain Can’t Think Its Way Out of a Trigger
Your brain’s job is to solve problems.
But when you’re triggered, it can’t tell the difference between a real threat and a perceived one.
That’s because your thoughts are shaped by your subconscious beliefs, emotions, and body memories—all of which were imprinted during intense or formative experiences (i.e. trauma—big and small).
When something in the present stirs those old imprints, your nervous system sounds the alarm, and your brain rushes in to “fix” the emotional pain as fast as possible.
The problem?
It’s often solving the wrong problem.
For example, if your child is being bullied and your body still holds the memory of being tormented on the playground at age eight, your system doesn’t know the difference. Your brain responds as if you’re the one being bullied again. You’re reacting from old wiring, not present reality.
That’s why trying to “figure it out” or “think positive” doesn’t work.
You can’t logic your way to safety when your body feels unsafe.
To access true clarity, you must first calm your nervous system and reconnect with your inner knowing—the part of you that lives beneath the mental noise. This is what is often called bottom-up processing instead of top-down.
When we do that, you can meet ANY challenge with calm and clarity, grounded in your power and truth.
In short: we need tools, NOT mental prowess.

When women come to me in this state of overwhelm and rumination I don’t waste your time diagnosing the secret source of your trauma, trigger or shame . We don’t fix what’s “wrong” with you or spend too much time rehashing stories you’ve probably told more than once in therapy.
I don’t find these to be sustainable solutions, and that’s not how I work.
I focus on helping a woman return to herself.
I help clear the blocks that are getting in the way of your inner knowing, and use somatic coaching to restore balance to your entire system, so clarity and calm can emerge.
An important tenet of focalizing (one of the coaching modalities I am trained in and use in my coaching practice) is to shift our attention from fixing and diagnosing to helping you find your way forward and allowing your body to practice feeling safe and calm, even when/if the unimaginable has happened or is happening.
That is true power and resilience that will ripple out positively to every future “problem” in your life. You can do fewer reps (in sessions with me) and strengthen your whole mind, body, soul system to feel safe and resourced in future scenarios. So when the fires pop up again (which they will), your inner knowing and this new and improved muscle memory in the body, psyche, nervous system (and everywhere in between) easily makes new and different choices, connections, stories.
When we focus on “diagnosing” we are staying in rumination and fear and worry. We are blaming and shaming ourselves, which eats up a lot of our creativity and energy.
But when we focus on feeling better - on tending to ourselves and restoring our energy and power - we can move past what triggered us in the first place.
With the tools for integrated listening and an open mind and willing heart, we can be gently shifted from surviving to thriving.
We can create what we want in our lives, instead of fixing what’s “broken”

I can’t tell you how many times I’ve held space for a client as she tried to logic her way around her trauma or think her way out of her body’s clear state of overwhelm.

Your thoughts are directed to a narrow set of ideas or thoughts to achieve a goal. This is a contrast to meditation, which is a quiet mind with no thinking.

What To Expect During Our Time Together
Sometimes beginning the journey home to yourself can feel daunting, and sometimes we need the space and tools to help us make that journey successfully.
My Inner Knowing Immersion is that support - a potent package of targeted private coaching, custom hypnosis and supplemental materials to create ease and clarity for a specific, acute problem or trigger that needs immediate relief and resolution.
It could be the starting point or the targeted get-back-in-the-game prescription to keep you on the phoenix path of spiraling upwards, without needing to block off a ton of time or resources to do so.
It’s designed to happen over a short period of time - 3 weeks - so you get exactly what you need quickly without a lot of time or energy spent on your part.
With your permission, at the beginning of our first session, we’ll open a portal between us that allows me to feel what you feel and know (in a shared, unspoken, intuitive language) what you know. From this field of your permission and my intuiting gifts, we will create something beautiful, resourcing and healing for you to use long after our time together has ended.

Twice a month, I’m blocking off half my workday to immerse myself in the energy and frequency of you. The good news (I think), is that you only have to be there for two 90-minute sessions. So you get a lot of my time, frequency and devotion without having to be there for all of it!
After we complete each call, I will keep our energetic portal open and get to work communing with your soul. I will have what you said in our session, plus my notes, and I will have what I’m intuiting your soul deeply needs to know, hear and remember—and from there, I will begin to make the art that is your custom hypnosis track.

We’ve been conditioned to believe that intelligence stems solely from articulate, well-formed thoughts and arguments, from thinking the “right” way about things. But my work (going on 12 years now) continues to teach me that what we convince ourselves is healthy productive thinking (...things to death) is actually rumination. Rumination is kind of like bringing a high-key body guard to a baby’s birthday party—it keeps us disconnected from the wisdom and resolution available via the body and soul and a bit out of touch with the scope of any given “problem,” in the first place.
There is so much body + soul intelligence we miss out on when we decide the mind is the only safeguard necessary for our deepest hurts and most persistent worries.
Your thoughts are informed by your subconscious beliefs + your emotions (which are initiated from your limbic brain) + your body’s memories, which can often imprint after intense life experiences.
Well-formed thoughts are only a piece of the puzzle. Let’s call them the gasoline that makes the car run. However, most of us are driving cars with subconscious programs (let’s call this the oil) and stuck nervous states (engines) that were developed in reaction to intense emotional imprints (note: trauma) dating back as far as childhood.
Our limbic brain controls much of our nervous system responses and neither good intentions nor strict discipline make it possible for us to control how our system reacts to daily stressors in our lives (like traffic! Tantrums! Unanswered emails!) when our cars have got traumatized engines (is this metaphor working IDK let’s keep going).
We. need. tools. Not more mental prowess.
We need a good mechanic to spend time under the hood of our car, not more gasoline (stay with me!).
Like an atrophied muscle, we can train and strengthen the resilience and flexibility of our nervous systems when we begin targeting the right “parts,” if you will. When we shift our attention and hyper-focus from the story we’re telling ourselves (and anyone else who will listen . . . ) to the story the body is telling, we begin to get a clearer picture of the “issue.” Addressing it is absolutely doable with trauma-informed strategies and practices that subtly weave together your body’s language, your soul’s language and your conscious and subconscious thoughts and beliefs. Real strength training doesn’t happen quickly—it happens over time. And just like your buns of steel, your nervous system and subconscious mind are gonna need you to put in some reps for you to fully see and feel the effects.
Your brain’s job is to solve problems—but sometimes it’s not so great at sorting through what’s an actual problem or a perceived problem. Because that’s what happens when your emotions take over and you can’t think clearly. It's your body talking and telling an old story and it’s time to look under your hood and give yourself and your problem the attention it deserves so you can access your inner knowing in order to respond to today’s problem.
We are born already wired for the highly dynamic and unpredictable environment of life on earth. The animal kingdom is proof of this. Born into the gorgeous, volatile and very dangerous web of life, they navigate unimaginable danger and death on the daily, and yet, as researchers began to note in recent decades, animals experience none of the PTSD or trauma that so afflicts the human species. This is because, without the overactive, meaning-making prefrontal cortex, they are constantly synthesizing stress and adapting using the natural intelligence of the body. Something about how I am trained to facilitate this type of healing via focalizing + hypnotherapy?
Our brains are wired for survival. Sometimes the body feels under threat even when it’s actually not, and the brain reinforces this story. Your subconscious programming and beliefs inform what stories your conscious mind will turn over and over—forever—in a noble effort to solve your biggest problems.

Inner knowing takes an integrated mind, body, soul approach to life’s deepest problems by accessing your sweet spot of safety (if you want the science, this is your “window of tolerance”), which then signals to the brain, “This isn’t okay, but we’re okay.” Making choices from that place looks very different than reacting from our survival brain. You learn to be there for yourself—your whole self. You learn new stories and neural pathways that lead you to inner safety and security when life out there starts to feel shaky or stressful.
From this place of inner knowing and being there for yourself, it’s easier to notice what you need and choose it. You begin to access emotional balance more and more, and this reinforces new thoughts, beliefs, physiological states and more. The whole car runs more smoothly, see? But yes, you should still hit up the gas station every time you’re on empty. :)

The human mind is extremely suggestible and is being bombarded daily with suggestive stimuli from external sources, and suggestive thoughts and ideas from the inside. A good deal of suffering is the consequence of “negative” thoughts and impulses invading one’s mind from the dark subconscious cobweb corners of the mind.
Unfortunately, past experiences and feelings are constantly pushing themselves into your current choices, directly or in disguise. Your thoughts become feelings that can sabotage your happiness, health and overall wellness. By the time we’ve reached adulthood, there has often been a build- up of “negative” modes of thinking, feeling and acting which persist like bad habits. Like any habit, they are hard to break or change and even harder to understand. Using hypnosis, we are able to transform negative attitudes, beliefs and habits into more positive ones.
